Because I am and I do

Because I am and I do.

The end of an era

Let me reassure you straight away: the title of this post has nothing to do with my absence on this blog. I am not planning to retire from blogging.
I am very much aware of my absence here (this is my first post this MONTH). Some other areas in my life needed to take priority for a while.
I don't know if you missed me, but I sure did miss blogging. And sewing to be honest, but it was the right thing to do.

So here I am again to share with you a new milestone in my career as a mom. My daughter had her farewell party from Kindergarden this weekend. Together with 9 of her classmates she will start 1st grade this August. The thought alone makes me feel a bit queasy especially thinking of her walking to school all by herself.

All the parents of the leaving children got together to discuss what we could give the teachers as a thank you present. We wanted to give them a gift with a personal touch and time was kind of short. After a lot of debate I proposed to make them some pillows.

I wasn't sure at first, but now I am really glad I did. I loved how they turned out and the absolute cherry on the pie was to see how much effort each child put into their drawing. They are all fantastic, but then so are the teachers!

I will be linking these beauties to:

  5. When my granddaughter left Nursery School prior to starting Infants School my daughter wanted to make 2 cushions for the Nursery. She doesn't sew but together we made two lovely cushions for the Nursery.
