Thank goodness it's finished Friday

Hello and welcome to:

I am very happy to host this finished Friday. We recently had an addition to the family. Just to clarify not our own, but DH niece gave birth to a lovely baby girl whom she and her husband named Clio.

Like I needed a reason to make a quilt ;). This Quilt has actually been done for a while, but I waited to share it with you because I wanted to add her name, which the parents kept a secret.

When I first heard that DHN was having a girl I knew that I was going to make her this quilt. I made it using Amy Butlers fabric line Lark. DHN didn't seem to be the pinky girl type of mum and I love that Lark is feminin without being pink.

As backing fabric I used an Ikea print, for batting 100%cotton and I used Kona snow for the binding.

I quilted organic circles, because I have been wanting to try them for such a long time. I started off very close together in the middle, but as I moved out I made them wider and wider. I really enjoyed the process and will no doubt use this technic more in the future.

So what do you want to share with us today?

Please link up your finish here and link back in your post to the party. Then enjoy and spread some comment love.

till next time,

  6. I think it is a wonderful quilt - the big circle is so playful and fun

  7. That's a totally cute baby quilt and perfect for the non-pink, modern mom. Love the backing, too!

  8. This is a lovely quilt for a baby. The backing fabric is a lot of fun Iris . Quilting those circles is a lot of fun isn't it. I like that you made the distances wider as you went along.
